this is the only new year’s resolution i made . . . create a blog. okay. that was easy. now what??
two things come to mind when i think of this task: time and curiosity. could i possibly spend more time in front of this machine and will anyone want to read what comes out?? what the heck do i talk about?
so, i’ve been following a few blogs and the one thing that i wanted to steer clear of is revealing too much about the way i work but still keep your attention. i learned much of what i know about light and composition from reading . . . though that’s a difficult way to learn being a, mostly, visual person. luckily, much of what i read had a lot of pretty pictures!
though, the books taught me a lot, it was working as a medic on set of a few feature films that taught me how to think of the whole composition and how the ambient light or artificial light relates to the image on the screen (well, onto film at the time).
